ABOUT THE ARTIST

Katie Mintle is a native Colorado artist! Born in the foothills of Boulder, her paintings are greatly inspired by nature, especially the towering Rocky Mountains of her home. She primarily works in acrylics to create her imaginary landscapes which always possess a touch of whimsy. Katie comes from a long line of artists and has always been encouraged by her family to pursue her art. She graduated with a BFA from Cornell College in 2018, winning the distinguishing Kimmel Award for painting in her graduating class. Katie has been greatly influenced by the style of Georgia O’Keeffe. One of her earliest memories being a giant print of Georgia’s sunflower which hung in the kitchen across from her wooden highchair.

Katie is also a singer/songwriter, and multi instrumentalist. She first fell in love with celtic music at age 10 and enrolled in private harp lessons. She began performing almost immediately thereafter, busking on the streets of Boulder with her little harp since she was 11 years old. Though music has been a part of her life since she was very young, singing is a more recent passion. Katie began singing harmonies in 2020 with her housemates and has been singing professionally ever since. Katie currently sings harmonies for three local bands and still plays her little celtic harp, the same one she had at 11 years old.
